Around District  9800

We are now beginning to move into the ‘Change’ stages of the Regionalisation Pilot that will see us ready for a revised approach to be implemented from 1 July.

Our Governor team is working with the Steering Group to ensure a smooth transition for all clubs and to assist everyone in understanding what this change will mean.
Rotary Hoppers Crossing recently completed an exciting project that will help provide a better standard of health care for hospitalized patients in three African countries – Ghana, Uganda, and Nigeria. The project involved sending high-quality surgical instruments to health clinics and hospitals in the three countries.
In the lead-up to International Men’s Day (IMD) 2023, and in line with Rotary International President Gordon McInally’s focus on Mental Health, on November 17, Rotary Caroline Springs held a fundraising dinner to recognize community champions. Local organisations nominated people within their organisations to acknowledge their contribution and achievements in recognising mental health issues in the community.
Rotary Keilor East is introducing an easier, and more cost-effective way to ship goods internationally.  We know that many countries in our region could benefit from the goods that are readily available from our Donations In Kind (DIK) and Rotary Australia Repurposing Equipment (RARE) stores. We also know that many clubs want to help, but mostly they operate in isolation.  A full container of material is often more than a project needs and is financially challenging for many clubs.  The answer is a shared container.
Last chance to order your Rotary Fruit Cakes and Puddings to raise money for The Rotary Foundation.

Did you know that a portion of the proceeds from the sales by your club becomes a Foundation credit allocated to your club? How great is that!  Chris from Melton Valley does an amazing job managing all the orders of Fruit Cakes and Puddings that are sold as far away as Darwin.

For any last-minute orders, you may be lucky to find out where there are cakes and puddings at a club near you. Email Chris at: rotarymeltonvalley@hotmail.com

Last year $27,000 was raised and donated to The Rotary Foundation. With your help, we can double that figure to do even more good in the world.
