The District 9800 Speakers Bank assists clubs to source interesting and diverse speakers to enhance their weekly meeting program.  There are many interesting and varied speakers on the list.


Recent additions to the Speakers Bank are Andrew Atkinson of Police Veterans Victoria Inc. and Bill Reid of the Alma Doepel Supporters Club.

Andrew is a retired Police Inspector.  He is a volunteer with Police Veterans Victoria Inc., which is a not-for-profit organisation that supports Victoria Police Veterans and their families.  The organisation has a focus on improving mental health.

Bill is currently Vice President of the Alma Doepel Supporters Club. Bill talks about the long and chequered history of the Alma Doepel, the last tall ship of its type built in Australia. In his voluntary role, Bill organises events and conducts tours of the ship.

Others listed on the Speakers Bank include Kerry Cue.  Kerry is author of 22 books, a humourist, journalist and comic.  Kerry is also the maths blogger: Mathspig She has written columns for every major newspaper in Australia. Following the popularity of her humorous maths blog she spoke at the International Congress of Mathematical Education in Hamburg in 2016.  Kerry studied Science/Engineering at Melbourne University and taught maths and science for 10 demanding years before becoming a best-selling author of 20 humorous and educational books including Life On a G-String, Australia UnbuttonedI Left My Heart in Chinkapook and My knickers in New York.

Her satirical novel about US Gun Culture, Target 91 was published in 2019.
