Back in September, the Rotary Club of Collingwood formally dedicated its Peace Poles at Collingwood College.  Through the collaboration of the school executive and club members, eight Peace Poles representing the project have been combined which recognise the 46 language groups at the school.

The synergies are significant.  With 800,000 poles worldwide and 8,000 in Australia,  the eight at Collingwood College join the school and our club to the Worldwide movement of Peace.  The closeness to the school is significant also, as they are now part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program for Middle School students.  The IB program supports students in global thinking and connectedness.

Graeme Hope, 9800 District Governor, local politicians and members of the community joined Rotarians to celebrate the installation of the peace poles held in conjunction with the Swing into Spring community event.
