2022 Camberwell Art Show | District 9800

June 24 to July 3 at Swinburne University, Hawthorn

Now in its 57th year, it is Australia’s largest and best-known community Art Show and it’s back at Swinburne University after 2 years of lockdown.
The Camberwell Art Show is a competition and showcase of art organised by Rotary Camberwell featuring over 1,000 paintings by many of Australia’s top emerging and established artists.  Around $40,000 worth of prizes is up for grabs including $20,000 to the winning artist.
To purchase tickets for the Gala Opening (24th June) or Daily and Evening Sessions, please go to www.camberwellartshow.org.au
To our fellow Rotary Clubs, why not do what many clubs do - hold your weekly meeting at the Art Show. It is a great night of fellowship and you can follow the visit with lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants around such as the Glenferrie Hotel.
We are constantly on the lookout for volunteers to help set up the Art Show (usually over 3-4 days prior to opening) plus, help with closing down the Art Show on the final day or so. You may be free for an hour or so, or a day. Your support will be appreciated. Contact: David Troon: dtroon@bigpond.net.au
We specifically seek help with, for example:
  • Assisting with admin and coordination of paintings at the time of delivery by artists. Basic computer skills are handy.
  • Assisting with hanging paintings on panels
  • General help during Art Show public opening hours.
Even if you don’t have an interest in art, here’s a great opportunity to get involved, and meet Rotary members, Art Show patrons, and sponsors. People skills are a big plus. It’s rewarding to know that all net proceeds are directed to Rotary Camberwell charitable programs and projects in the local and wider communities. We are all volunteers. You’ll enjoy the experience!
Note: Volunteers must have a Working With Children Check (WWCC) card.  Application forms for the WWCC are obtained from Australia Post or the Department of Justice at  http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/.  There is no cost involved.
