Recognition Programs

District Recognition Awards

Each year Rotary District 9800 takes the opportunity to recognise and thank Members and clubs for their hard work and dedication to a wide variety of projects, both locally and internationally.

This is a good time for District 9800 to thank you for all your dedication to changing lives for the better and to congratulate Clubs on their commitment to serve others.

The purpose of District Recognitions is to acknowledge and encourage “excellence” in a variety of key areas.

They are designed to give Clubs and their members pride in their achievements and to set the benchmark in what Clubs can do to make a difference within our community.

Categories of Awards

The categories, which are aligned to the Avenues of Service, have seven categories in total and mainly align to the District 9800 Strategic Goals and Objectives. Project categories include the key service areas of:

  • Community
  • International
  • Vocational
  • Youth
  • Public Image & Communications
  • Membership
  • Environment Sustainability

A maximum of two projects will be selected in each category thereby making no more than 14 Recognitions being celebrated as being the ‘best of the best’. To avoid duplicate awards, a project/event can only be nominated in one category.

Clubs can also continue to self-nominate but would need to seek an endorsement from their AG /Avenue of Service Chair/DST Member to ensure the project/event meets the criteria outlined.

Presentation Date

This year the awards will be presented at the District Changeover on the 25th June 2022.

Nominations are due in by COB Saturday 4th June 2022.

Applications will be accepted for activities occurring during the Rotary year from 01/07/21 to 04/06/22.

  • Certificates with the District Recognition Logo will be presented.
  • An electronic District 9800 Recognition Logo will be made available to clubs to use on their club letterhead, emails, websites, brochures, and bulletins.

Think ahead and keep details and material related to your projects to minimise the time required when submitting the nomination form.
