Walk with Us in October to raise money for the End Polio Campaign.  Register yourself, walk as an individual or form a Team with family, friends and club members to support Rotary’s priority project:  to eradicate polio from the world.  You can walk at your own pace over the month with your kms and fundraising dollars recorded on the Walk with Us website - https://www.rotarywalkwithus.org/
The official launch of Walk with Us will take place on Sunday 6 October as part of the “Paws for Polio” event at Elsternwick Park.  Bring your four legged friend, if you have one (or borrow one?) and walk together in a loop around the Park.  If you don’t have a dog and wish to walk further there is an option for a walk on Elwood Beach.  At the end of the walk, everyone will reconvene for a sausage sizzle.  Registration on www.trybooking.com/CTSJL includes gifts for the dogs and gifts for the humans.

Two further official walks are planned for the month of October with details still being finalised.  Meantime, you can challenge yourself and others to see many kms you can cover in a month.  Can you do 3km per day?  5km per day?  10km per day?  And how many dollars can you raise while you walking?  Challenge your Club members to raise more.  So check https://www.rotarywalkwithus.org/ and get involved in fundraising, fun and fitness.

District 9800 has coordinated this very successful fundraising campaign for the past few years and the aim is to raise at least $50,000 and beat last year’s total.

Rotary International has undertaken to raise $50 million each year for this cause which will turn into $150 million when matched 2:1 by the Gates Foundation.  So you can see how vital it is for us to  take part, put on our walking shoes and seek donations.
