Rotary Safe Families (RSF) has now been given a great opportunity to expand its outreach into the global Rotary international network.
The aim is to assist Rotary Clubs, Districts and Multi-Districts globally in providing resources, workshops and have global Mega-Meetings on building awareness of the vital importance of Peace in the home.
  • Dialogue and discussions will be held to break the silence on violence. The focus will be on Peace building and prevention of any form of abuse to anyone, anywhere, and anytime.
RSF has been renamed Rotary SAFE Families – Building a Culture of Peace with Peter Berg (Rotary Melbourne) and Dorothy Gilmour (President of Rotary Hawthorn) as Co-Chairs. Dorothy and Mary Barry (Past President of Rotary Melbourne) are co-founders of RSF.

Three distinguished international Rotarians – Pat Merryweather-Arges (Rotary International Past Vice-President 2023-24), Grace Van Zyl (Chair of Rotary Action Group for Peace/District Governor Nominee 9400) and Gordon McInally (Rotary International President 2023-2024) are Patrons of RSF - Building a Culture of Peace.

The first step is to create bi-monthly RSF global Mega-Meetings with the initial meeting at 11.00am on Friday 7th March (AEDT) with Robert Fisher (Past President Rotary Melbourne) as Moderator. Presenters at the meeting will include District Governor Michael Lapina. Professionals who work in the area of domestic violence from around the world will be invited to speak at the Mega-Meetings. The convenor of the Mega-Meetings is Ozuem Esiri (Past President Rotary Sapele GRA).

Importantly, the work with local communities will continue as strongly as ever.
