District 9800 has produced one or more peace fellows every year, except one, since the program began in 2002. We invite you and your fellow club members to find qualified candidates so that our district’s world beating record can be maintained. This year, The Rotary Foundation will award up to 50 fellowships for master’s degrees and up to 80 fellowships for professional development certificates at premier universities — including at our newest Rotary Peace Centre in Istanbul.

Candidates are no longer required to obtain endorsement from districts, but they are highly encouraged to connect with Rotary clubs and districts to learn about Rotary and meet with peace fellowship chairs to seek mentorship and an application recommendation. Candidates can access a District Finder within the application to locate a peace fellowship subcommittee chair to contact.
If a candidate contacts your club, please contact the District 9800 Rotary Peace Fellowship Subcommittee for advice on how to educate him or her on Rotary, how to mentor the candidate, how to assist them with their application, including making a personal video statement, and how to write a recommendation.
Since the Rotary Peace Centers program began in 2002, more than 1,800 fellows have graduated with more than 40 coming from District 9800. They are now working on peace and development initiatives in more than 140 countries. Many serve as leaders in government, nongovernmental organizations, education and research institutions, peacekeeping and law enforcement agencies, media and the arts, and international organizations such as UNICEF, the United Nations, the World Bank, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Our Peace Centre program is one of Rotary’s finest achievements.
