The Victorian Rotary Emergency Services Community (RESC) Awards are designed to recognise our emergency service personnel who have gone above and beyond their call of duty and reflected the Rotary motto of “Service above Self”.

Nominations for the RESCA Awards VIctoria will be open to all Victorian-based paid and volunteer Emergency Service Personnel and can be made by any member of the community, or their colleagues.

Rotarians are encouraged to nominate outstanding Emergency Service workers in their communities.

The awards are supported by all Victorian Rotary Districts and will also support a Research Scholarship investigating Mental Health in Emergency Services Personnel.

Rotary clubs can also assist by sharing the information within their community and at their local emergency service locations/branches. Circulating the attached flyer to place on community notice boards or to your local emergency service agencies, will assist the promotion of the program and nominations of suitable candidates.

Nominations close on the 30th of June 2023.

A panel of independent judges will then assess nominees on three key criteria:

  • Community service over and above the call of normal duties that best exemplifies Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self (i.e. community involvement when they are not working in their normal roles).

  • Personal attributes

  • Contribution to their organisation

Finalists from each agency (one paid and one volunteer -where applicable) are recognised at a Victorian state awards event in September where two major winners will be announced and invited to the National event in Canberra in October.
