Partnering with Rotary Santo in Vanuatu, Rotary Chadstone/East Malvern is installing three water tanks and guttering in three schools on the island of Espiritu Santo. And it is thanks to receiving a District Grant from The Rotary Foundation that our collective funds have enabled this project to take place.
To ensure the buy-in of the schools in the project, we leveraged up from water tanks at two schools to tanks at three schools where the local communities provided the materials and people power to build the foundations for the tanks, thereby confirming their on-going commitment to the program. The erection of an additional tank was made possible due to this community involvement.

The three schools benefiting from this project are Coolidge Kindy, Showground Kindy and Santa-Therese Primary School all on the island of Espiritu Santo.  In two years, our club will have delivered five water tanks into Vanuatu.

Who would have thought that cooking sausages at Bunnings Chadstone could provide drinking water to school children in Vanuatu and that without the Rotary District International Grant twenty five percent of the kids would have missed out!!!
