It only took members of Essendon, Essendon North, Flemington Kensington, Footscray and West Footscray a record 13 mins 41 secs to pack 100 food parcels which were delivered to local food banks, feeding 500 people in need. Gateway East showed what was possible with a strategic production line and a determination to beat the previous record held by Westside at 15 mins.

A key highlight of the offical DG Cluster visit were the fabulous presentations by presidents Vera Maljevac, Maria Silber and David Palmer demonstrating how many clubs are making a consistent impact both locally and overseas. Gateway East are definitely #peopleofaction! The feedback received from the evening has been terrific with the cluster indicating they want to do it all over again next year!

Special mention to DG Mentoring Recognition recipients Lesley McCarthy and Edith Chen who were both recognised by their Rotary proteges.

Yvonne Farquharson on Lesley McCarthy: Lesley has introduced me to other perspectives, community service, more experienced business operators, as well as providing encouragement, positive feedback and an immediate Rotary family.

Melina Caccetta on Edith Chen: "It takes a village" is Edith and my motto moving forward. I have met various influential people who have assisted me to grow in my volunteer position.

Thanks to Presidents Vera Maljevac, Barry Harvey, Shraddha Sharma, Maria Silber and David Palmer for your leadership. A huge thanks to AG Tony Laycock for MC'ing and helping to co-ordinate!
