An article from Melissa Scott, Rotary Club of Daylesford

As part of a commitment to recognise the need for mental health support in the community, Daylesford Rotary has sponsored two blues trees: one at the Newlyn Recreation Reserve and the other at Glenlyon Reserve for a total of $3,000.
The Blue Tree Project is a charity working to break the silence and the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide. What began as a grassroots movement in Western Australia has grown into a global mental health charity, driving change and amplifying the conversation around mental health.
Rotary is proud to sponsor these two trees acknowledging the impact of mental health in our community. We hope the installations will generate conversation, and encourage people to talk about how they are feeling. Acknowledge that “it’s ok not to be OK”, talk to someone about how you are feeling. Reach out to family, a friend, teacher or a professional.
Daylesford Rotary worked on this project with Call Your Mates Hepburn.who have installed a number of trees in Daylesford and its environs.
