An article from Colin Paterson, Rotary Caroline Springs
Community is where we unite to celebrate achievements and share in each other’s successes. On 19 April, the Sunday before Anzac Day, in Aintree, a suburb of Melton City, two members from Caroline Springs Rotary played an essential role in organizing a new event aimed at bringing together people from a wide array of cultures to honour our Anzacs and all who have served our country.

As part of the event, the organisers coordinated a Parade featuring representatives from Scotland and India, recognizing the contributions of Commonwealth. Reflecting the international spirit of Caroline Springs and Melton City suburbs, Colin Paterson’s network of volunteers – led by his wife Elisabeth, a former Caroline Springs member – worked alongside Simarjeet Singh to bring this inaugural event to life.
The morning featured the traditional Anzac Day ceremony, followed by a breakfast for attendees, generously provided by the Rotary Club of Caroline Springs.
On Anzac Day itself, at the Dawn Service, Rotary Caroline Springs was represented by Martin, Ronald, Simarjeet, potential new members Hardev and Dawit Gizaw where we laid a commemorative wreath.
This collaboration highlights the importance of neighbourly friendship and the strength that comes from supporting one another.
