The Rotary Club of Wyndham Harbour D9800 in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Canal Estate D9110, Lagos, Nigeria, joined forces to provide school writing materials for kids in a local school in Okata in Lagos, unlocking words and giving children the joy of reading.
The collaboration focussed on providing exercise books and writing materials to the kids in the school, access to books and resources to assist young learners to improve their literacy skills.
The principal, staff members and kids were all excited that their school was selected for a project which crossed international borders. The principal shared her immense gratitude to the two Rotary Club partners in making the project come to fruition.

By promoting literacy, the project has empowered children to reach their full potential, while creating stronger, more connected communities. This initiative highlights the power of Rotary’s commitment to education and community service, making a lasting impact on the lives of children in the Okota community. Together, the clubs are helping to open doors to brighter futures for the next generation.

This partnership exemplifies Rotary's commitment to Service Above Self, combining resources and expertise to create a sustainable impact. It also represents the power of unity within the Rotary community to foster positive change, both locally and globally.
