If your club is considering applying for a Rotary Foundation District Grant, now is the time to apply.

The District Grants committee has ample funds still available for this Rotary year.  It is possible to arrange District Grants through the District 9800 Humanitarian Grants Committee at relatively short notice. The Grants Committee has been able to approve grants and has done so quite quickly where grant applications comply with the terms and conditions of the Rotary Foundation.

From July 1st, 2023, changes to the way Foundation District Grant approvals are managed will mean once accepted by the District Grants Committee, applications must be referred to the Rotary Foundation for final approval. This will be done via a single block grant application for funding lodged by the D9800 Grants Committee early in the new Rotary year.

This will require all club grant applications to be submitted to the Foundation at the same time, early in the new Rotary year. A closing date for new applications will likely be around October with final approval from RI at the end of November. Applications received after November may not receive final approval until April 2024, meaning that you will need to plan your grant supported projects well in advance.

There will be more information provided on the new process at the District Grants Seminars scheduled for June and July this year.  Image of happy kids standing next to a new water tank in their village

In the meantime, if you have a project on the boil, lodge your application for Rotary Foundation District Grant funding now, while there are still funds available and the response can be relatively quick.
