An article from Sally Jandric, RC Point Gellibrand
Each year, at the end of November, the Rotary Club of Point Gellibrand has an event titled, “Dog Day in Dog Town” in Nelson Place, Williamstown.  This is a fun day for families to celebrate dogs and also an opportunity to learn more about Rotary. And why is it called Dog Town?  Click on the BOOK in the article to learn why.
Rotarians on the job at “Dog Day in Dog Town”
The first “Dog Day” was held on 01 December 2024.  The weather was perfect, the attendees (including the dogs), and the Rotarians on duty all had a fabulous time. There were dog competitions and a variety of stalls to add to the entertainment.   It was such a success that the decision was made to hold another one in 2025.
So, on 30 November last year, another bigger and better “Dog Day in Dog Town” event was held.  Despite the unpredictable weather, it turned out to be a great day.  Many dog lovers and their families again attended.  Dogs and their owners came groomed and dressed for the competitions, eg. best fairy dress up, best trick, etc.) with great prizes to be won.  The entertainment included music, a balloon man and many stalls selling dog-related goods to their doting owners.
