This is your opportunity to contribute to a project in villages in the Myagdi District (Annapurna area) of Nepal – and to take in the Rotary International Convention in Bangkok (6-9 May) on the way home. This will not be a trip for the faint-hearted, as it will entail moderately challenging trekking (there’s a 1,000 m. climb just to reach Paudwar village), and staying with villagers in essentially primitive conditions – no 5 star hotels! But if you really want to experience life in a Nepali village, away from the normal trekking routes, then here is your opportunity. Volunteer work can entail such simple things as reading to children and helping them with their English. For more details go to websites www.nepalaid.org.au and www.rotarywoodend.org.au. |
