Know Your Numbers

Did you know that:

The Know Your Numbers Stroke Awareness program is about helping people know their blood pressure and whether they should seek professional advice.

The National Stroke Foundation supplies all literature, instructions and blood pressure test equipment for a small cost; Rotary clubs supply the manpower to conduct tests.

The program is in May and each club chooses their location, such as a pharmacy or a market.

This is what one Rotarian participant had to say:

“Thanks for your help in creating awareness of this terrible trauma. I wish I knew a little of what I now know before I had my Stroke."

During our program participation we indentified two "strokes waiting to happen". Both were sent for immediate medical treatment; one was admitted to hospital. We possibly saved them from serious disability or even death
