2011 'SnapHOP' Photographic Exhibition, Performance & Dinner

The Rotary Youth Arts Project culminates this month with their 'SnapHOP' Photographic Exhibition and Video Dance performance to be held at Dancehouse, 150 Princes Street, North Carlton, on Thursday, 20th October, 2011, 6.00pm-7.30pm.

This is the RC Richmond's major youth arts project and is funded jointly by three Heritage Cluster Clubs - the  Rotary Clubs of Richmond, Collingwood and Carlton, along with the City of Yarra and Arts Victoria.

This year we again celebrate the creative work of young people living, working or schooling in the City of Yarra who are on the edge, who are from diverse cultural backgrounds or from alternative education settings.

Your participation in this free event is most important because it shows the young participants that they are valued and their dance performance and photographic creativity is appreciated by the community.

This element of the Rotary Youth Arts Project is just as important as the development of specific skills and learning to work in teams. All of the graduates of this year's project (most are in year 10) will be invited to join the Rotary Next Step Program which will guide, mentor and prepare them for full time employment, education or a combination of both.

Later, celebrate 'SnapHOP' at a dinner to follow at the Treacy Conference Centre, 126 The Avenue, Parkville, at 8.00pm. Again your attendance will also be greatly valued.

Cost is $45 per head. The purpose of the dinner is to say 'thank you' to all those who have contributed in some way to both the Rotary Youth Arts Project and the Next Step Program. We are also inviting other Cluster Clubs and all our sponsors and contributors. It is a rare chance to show our appreciation of their valued and far-reaching contribution.

For catering purposes please confirm your attendance at this outstanding RC Richmond project - for one, or the other, or both the 'SnapHOP' Exhibition and Performance at Dancehouse   and the celebration dinner at the Treacy Conference Centre. For further details please refer to the separate flyers.
