ROCAN: STOP OVARIAN CANCER
 | | RoCan Founder,
Yvonne Moon
| | In Australia alone 1,300 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year. This cancer is advanced before it is diagnosed, which is why it is known as the ‘Silent Killer’.
RoCan is a project aimed at:
| - Raising public awareness of the disease in the community
- Raising funds for research to develop an early screening test
- Discovering through research, the genes involved in the spread of ovarian cancer
- Involving more Rotary Clubs in the ovarian cancer awareness campaign
| Rotary District 9800 is very proud to support this worthy project and congratulates its founder, Yvonne Moon on receiving a Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for 2007 for her tireless efforts in raising the awareness of ovarian cancer. Yvonne is a member of the Rotary Club of Williamstown.
