| Rotary District 9800 has been active in participating in projects coordinated by Clean Up Australia, the organisation behind Clean Up Australia Day, the annual event conducted on the first Sunday in March each year since 1990.
| Clean Up Australia works with communities to clean up, fix up and conserve our environment, its mission being 'to inspire and work with communities to clean up, fix up and conserve our environment' - a sentiment Rotary District 9800 supports wholeheartedly.

Additional to Rotary District 9800's clubs' involvement in Clean Up Australia Day, our Clubs also participate in environmental cleanliness efforts throughout the year. If you have traveled almost anywhere in regional Victoria by road, you would have traveled along a section of highway sponsored by a Rotary Club who have worked hard to keep their region's roadsides free of litter - Rotarians care for the environment and are passionate about making a practical, year-round difference in keeping Australia clean.
Community organisations like Clean Up Australia rely on the support of the community to make such large projects happen - and this is where Rotary District 9800 aims to make a difference with our support.
Efforts which Rotary District 9800 intends to extend in support of Clean Up Australia include:

- Promotion of Clean Up Australia Day to the public.
- Promotion within Rotary of Clean Up Australia Day as an activity for all Rotarians to be involved in.
- Promotion of Clean Up Australia to businesses and organisations involved with Rotary.
- Fundraising to help Clean Up Australia Day's efforts.
- Support to participants in Clean Up Australia Day in the form ofcatering, tools, rubbish bags, gloves, mini-skips, and other equipmentto 'make it happen'.
- Working with Clean Up Australia to coordinate locations for Clean Up Australia efforts.
- Participation - having as many Rotarians and their families and friends lend a hand to Clean Up Australia's efforts.
